An update from Shout! Factory about MST3K Volume XXXIX (39) and any future DVD releases:

  • The set is available Nov. 21, 2017, and can be ordered on Amazon.
  • It is a four-disc set.

Here are the titles:

The Amazing Transparent Man
Girls Town
Diabolik
“Satellite Dishes”

The 4th disc (“Satellite Dishes”) is a collection of ONLY the host segments from episodes from the remaining unreleased episodes. They are:

201 – Rocketship X-M
212 – Godzilla Vs. Megalon
213 – Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster
309 – The Amazing Colossal Man
311 – It Conquered the World
416 – Fire Maidens from Outer Space
418 – The Eye Creatures
807 – Terror from the Year 5000
809 – I Was A Teenage Werewolf
905 – The Deadly Bees
906 – The Space Children
913 – Quest of the Delta Knights

Shout says, “Despite our best efforts to include the remaining unreleased episodes, due to licensing issues, it is very likely that Volume 39 will be the last collection of never-before-released episodes, and that these remaining episodes may never get a legitimate release. With this in mind, we decided the next best option was to release the remaining host segments by themselves.”

FEAR NOT!

Cheesyflix.com still offers all those episodes, either individually or as part of our new “Satellite Wishes” Theme Set, available at a great discount! Complete your collection with the best quality broadcast copies available!

Help make a movie! Be in a movie! Be a producer of a movie!

“RiffLife: An Exploration Of The Movie Riffing Phenomenon”

Delve deep into the history of the movie riffing experience and discover what it means to our personal lives and the American culture.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/695277314/rifflife-an-exploration-of-the-movie-riffing-pheno

From their Kickstarter page:

“In the late 1980s, Mystery Science Theater 3000 was unleashed upon the world and forever changed the way we look at bad movies. Since it’s cancellation in 1999, cast members of MST3K have filled the void left by the show with their own projects, namely Michael J. Nelson’s RiffTrax and Joel Hodgson’s Cinematic Titanic. But it hasn’t stopped there. Fans of the show have begun making their own riffs of bad movies, making the concept of movie riffing a wide ranging creative sandbox for anybody to play in, and is literally changing lives in the process.

In our film, RiffLife, we want to document this history of the movie riffing phenomenon from MST3K up to the present day. We want to delve deep into the ocean of bad movies and see what it really takes to be “riffworthy.” We want to explore the bodies of work already produced by these genius men and women and get their thoughts on the best of the best and the worst of the worst. But that’s not all. We want to talk to the creators and fans and hear stories about what movie riffing means to them personally. Our ultimate goal is to determine where riffing fits into the zeitgeist of American popular culture.

But we need your help. As fans of movie riffing, we all know that movies made with no budget are really, really terrible! Our goal is to raise enough money to not only secure interviews with as many relevant individuals within the world of riffing as we can, but also to make it a top notch production worthy of the price tag we put on it. And to do that, we need to actually PAY people. Take a look at our reward levels and see if anything catches your fancy.

So on behalf of everybody on the RiffLife Team, thanks so much for you generous consideration. We literally cannot make this happen without the support of viewers like you.”

Product Recall! 313 – Earth vs The Spider

It has recently come to our attention that our master copy of 313 – Earth vs The Spider had a missing segment of dialog when our heroes return from the cave to discuss their findings with the adults. (Note that it also is near a point where Crow appears to speak, but he says nothing. That is unrelated to our defect and reveals an edit done during the Brain’s making of the episode, not a flaw.)

If you purchased this disc from us at ANYTIME in the past (before August 1, 2013), we would like to send you a FREE (and repaired) replacement copy with your next paid order – no need to return the original.*
